The last major event of our trip was intended to be a whale watching cruise from Hervey Bay. The next day we headed for Hervey Bay hoping we might get there before the forecasted rain. We did not.

All was not lost. We spent the late afternoon at the movies and got Chinese takeaway. The next day we drove back through rain to our beloved Coolum Beach. While it did not end the way we had hoped, the Great Barrier Reef trip was excellent. Northern Queensland is filled with fun and interesting things to do and see.
