Byron Bay, NSW

Byron Bay is a popular tourist destination. We spent the day hiking the Cape Byron Walking Trail, walking the beach, and investigating town. The trail leads you to Cape Byron, which happens to be the eastern most point of mainland Australia, and the picturesque Cape Byron Lighthouse. Our pictures do not capture the true beauty of the area. We did not have enough time to visit Arakwal National Park and would have enjoyed more beach time. Luckily it is close enough to Sunshine Coast that we can plan a long weekend to continue enjoying the area.

Isn’t that just the best beach?

Yes, we loved it. Big question, which is the best beach in all of Australia? Byron is definitely in the running. So many good ones to consider.

I’ve only seen a few myself. The beaches running around the bay south of Melbourne down to the Mornington Peninsula are so terrific you just take them for granted. Have a great trip.
